Spike in Impressions
Header Bidding impressions increased compared to the same day last week.
Step 1: Check the average IPP (impressions per pageview) for any abnormal changes. If nothing is out of the ordinary, the spike in impressions could be due to an increase in traffic volume overall.
Step 2: Has the publisher changed their traffic source? You may find some relevant information on Google Analytics. Within Google Analytics on the left side panel go to Acquisition > Source/Medium.
Step 3: Has the publisher deployed any changes on the site?
Step 4: Has the traffic profile changed (e.g. geographical location or device)? You may find some relevant information on Google Analytics. Within Google Analytics on the left side panel navigate to – Audience >Location or Mobile > Overview.
Step 5: Is there enough competition on DFP against Header Bidding? Run a report on DFP.
Step 6: Check the CPM rates for Managed Demand to ensure they are adjusted to their true CPM.
Step 7: If there is not enough competition, consider signing up for more demand partners and have them compete on price priority.
