Hi it’s Megan again, and welcome to the Learn to Monetize More video series.  Moving along through our tutorials on how to master DFP, today we’ll discuss creating channels in Doubleclick Ad Exchange.

In the initial part of the series, we familiarized you with basic DFP functions involving Adsense and Ad Exchange. Today’s tutorial outlines how you can further integrate Ad Exchange into DFP by creating Ad Exchange channels.

The goal of this tutorial is to help you create suitable Ad Exchange channels to help you segment your Ad Exchange traffic for reporting and other purposes.

Let’s begin.

1) Log on to your Ad Exchange account.

2) Go to Inventory.

3) Navigate to the left-hand side and click Channels.

4) Click the New Channel button.

5) In the Name field, select your publisher name.

6) In the Channel field, enter a channel name depending on your naming convention, example: Channel 5

7) In the Inventory field, search for the domain name

8) Select the relevant inventory that matches your channel, ex:

9) Click include.

10) Then click Save.

You can use your channels to ensure that only certain buyers can see certain ads, which means that your buyers will be able to reach their target demographics even more easily. By defining clearly delineated channels, you’re more likely to reach a 100% fill rate.

In DFP, once you have set up an Ad Exchange Order as discussed in the previous lesson, you should be able to match the number of creatives on a particular channel (ex. Channel 5) – with the number of Adx tags included in that channel.
