How Pod Bidding works?

 

A single ad pod has multiple ad tags coupled in a single bucket. You can insert these tags either through SSAI or CSAI.

Pod Bidding follows the waterfall model where each ad tag gets called in a row until an ad is returned. If a pod has 5 ad tags, the chances of serving 2-3 video ads are quite high.

This is why publishers need to line up a tonne of ad tags in a single ad pod as it improves the odds of playing many ads within pre-roll, post-roll, and mid-roll.

  1. Using video CMS, set up the ad tags into an ad pod. Here you need to set the pod length, ad length, and the number of ad tags within each pod
  2. A sequence number is allotted to these ad tags within the ad pod.
  3. The video player will make ad calls for each of its tags when a viewer watches a video.
  4. Ads are served as long as it fits the ad slot (for every successful ad call). A 30-sec video will not be played in a 15-sec ad break.
  5. In the case of an unfilled video ad impression, the ad pod just moves on to the next tag in the sequence.

In Dynamic Pods, advertisers can still send bids for multiple 15 and 30-second ad options, as well as other lengths, giving them more flexibility and control over the ad content they display.
